Tottenham have made a major pre-contract offer to AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie.
Sport says the 25-year-old has attracted significant interest from top European clubs after he announced he will not be signing a new contract with the Rossoneri.
Barcelona were thought to be in pole position to secure Kessie's services next season but Spurs have reportedly swooped in with a large offer to Milan.
The deal includes a significant wage package and transfer bonus.
Barca are the club Kessie wants to join the most, but with the chance that he could leave on a free transfer Milan will likely look to take any decent offer for him to make some money from the deal.
Kessie has impressed as a powerful and versatile midfielder since switching from Atalanta to the San Siro in 2019, and looks an ideal candidate to marshal the midfield in front of Spurs' defence.
But Barca also see Kessie as the long-term solution to an aging Sergio Busquets, who turns 34 in July.
