Tottenham tabled a massive €50m for Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong over the summer, it has been revealed.
Mundo Deportivo says Ajax chief Marc Overmars rejected offers from Spurs and Barcelona for the youngster.
Barca first proposed a bid of €25-30m for De Jong, which was promptly refused by Overmars. Soon after, Spurs were in contact with their €50m offer - which was also rejected.
Besides Barcelona and Tottenham, Borussia Dortmund, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester City and AS Roma are all watching De Jong this season.
The 21 year-old won his first cap for Holland in Thursday's friendly against Peru.
