Tottenham are launching a bid for AS Roma midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

The Mirror says Spurs are lining up a £40million swoop for Zaniolo.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants Zaniolo in his team next season, and hopes to beat Real Madrid , Juventus and Bayern Munich to his signature - if the teenage sensation can be persuaded the quit the Serie A side this summer.

Zaniolo, 19, emerged as one of Europe's most promising midfielders after arriving at Roma 10 months ago as part of the swap deal that took Radja Nainggolan to Inter Milan.

He made 35 appearances for Roma during his breakthrough campaign in the Italian capital.
