Tottenham keeper Lloris laments 'unlucky' Liverpool winner

Hugo Lloris is disappointed at the nature of Liverpool's winning goal on Sunday.

The two teams met in an intense clash at Anfield, which the Reds won through a late Toby Alderweireld own goal.

It was Lloris who spilled a routine header straight onto Alderweireld, who did not have time to react and get his body out of the way.

"I don't really know what happened," Lloris said to reporters after the game.

"I tried to catch the ball but unfortunately there was no bounce. It bounced straight onto the shin of Toby – then what happened happened. The luck was on the opponent's side. It's tough.

"We made so much effort to come back into the game and we had chances to score the second goal. And then on set-pieces we conceded this goal so it's a bit sad for us.

"When you're a goalkeeper you know your responsibility," he added. "Of course you question yourself and the good thing is there's another game in a few days on Wednesday but you need to switch off for yesterday and prepare for the next game. It's the best way to forget.

"There is seven games to play and the objective is to win all of them. This is how we're going to take this end of the season."
