Tottenham are battling to add to manager Mauricio Pochettino's squad this week.

The Mirror says the only club not to sign a new player in the summer window remain keen on Leeds' Jack Clarke, the 18-year-old winger who is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs, and hope to get a deal done as they view him as one for the future.

Championship leaders Leeds have made it very clear they are not willing to sell before Thursday night's 11pm deadline, so it may be a question of Spurs trying to broker some sort of loan-back agreement for a player they rate highly.

With Tottenham's FA Cup conquerors Crystal Palace having already had a bid for Clarke rejected, Leeds know they have a hot property on their hands. But they want to keep him to help their push for that long-awaited return to the Premier League after 15 years away.
