Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp hopes to land Blackburn Rovers striker Roque Santa Cruz for £10 million.

Redknapp sees the Paraguayan, who sat out the end of last season with a knee injury, as the man to help transform Spurs into a top-six side.

Redknapp needs to sell some of the dead wood at White Hart Lane to bankroll his spree.

He said: "If I can get the players I want we'll have a terrific team. I reckon it will take £30m to get them but I'll have to balance the books by selling."
