Tottenham fullback Serge Aurier has explained why he believes his brother was shot and killed this week.

Christopher Aurier was shot dead outside a Paris nightclub, with the suspected perpetrator eventually handing himself into police.

Serge told La Depeche: "It's all about a woman, my brother's ex.

"Christopher was still talking to his ex, her new boyfriend got angry and wanted it to end. Christopher didn't respond, he ignored it. Moments later, that friend came back and shot Christopher."

On the suspected perpetrator surrendering himself, Serge added: "That's good news and smart on his part.

"We have to let the matter rest. I have no feelings of hatred or revenge against the perpetrator. I have a profession in which you have to be calm, I remain calm. I have faith in the legal system. I am deeply saddened, I will stay mourning my brother's death."
