Tottenham fullback Danny Rose wants to see authorities take greater action to prevent racism at stadiums.

He has often been critical of the racist incidents at grounds, and the lack of action from FIFA or UEFA.

And Rose spoke about the aftermath of the racist abuse suffered by England players in Montenegro recently.

"It [the response] has been great," Rose said to reporters.

"Despite what people may think, I feel a bit uncomfortable with the headlines but it's an unfortunate thing now happening in football.

"We saw it at the weekend in the Championship. It looks like it's creeping back in.

"I've had some great support throughout the week and once the season's finished I hope people can sit down and discuss how to eradicate these unfortunate things happening now in football.

"It's a shame really."
