Tottenham finalising deal for Chelsea keeper Cudicini today

Tottenham are expected to wrap up the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Carlo Cudicini today.

The News of the World says the Italian is due for talks at Spurs to discuss a switch from Stamford Bridge. The long-serving keeper, 35, is in the last six months of a lucrative Chelsea contract, with the Blues ready to reward his loyalty by granting him a free transfer to their London rivals.

Cudicini, 35, joined Chelsea in 1999 from Italian village side Castel Di Sangro and soon established himself as one of the top keepers in the Premier League. But when the Blues signed Petr Cech in 2004 he lost his first-team place.

Henrique Hilario, 33, will now become Cech's understudy.
