Tottenham are facing stiff competition for Valencia defender Jeremy Mathieu.
The France international is the subject of an approach from Spurs, which see him as a readymade replacement for Jan Vertonghen.
Tottenham are attempting to close a deal before the World Cup and Mathieu is understood to be keen on moving to London.
However, Las Provincias says Bayern Munich coach Pep Guardiola is also interested.
Guardiola had a scout at the Mestalla on the weekend for Valencia's 1-1 draw with Athletic Bilbao.
