Tottenham expecting two-week absence for Dembele

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino believes Mousa Dembele could be out of action for up to a fortnight.

The Belgian midfielder was subbed out of Monday night's 2-1 win at Watford with an ankle problem which plagued him prior to the Vicarage Road clash.

Dembele, who was replaced by Christian Eriksen, is now expected to be sidelined for at least seven days and may miss up to a couple of weeks meaning he could miss as many as four matches including the FA Cup/league double header with Leicester City in mid-January.

"We need to wait and assess him tomorrow," Pochettino said of Dembele.

"We hope it's not too bad. Maybe one week, two weeks."
