Tottenham defender Jonathan Woodgate is battling to rescue his career.
Woodgate, 30, was left out of Spurs' 25-man squad for the Premier League after failing to recover from a long-term groin problem. The former England defender has been out since November 2009 and has flown to New York and Australia in an attempt to clear up the injury.
Woodgate travelled to Australia in March to have another operation, but Harry Redknapp admits the problem has not been cured.
He said: "We're giving him every chance but it has been a year and it'll be another year if he has to have an operation."
