Tottenham defender Sanchez delighted learning from Mourinho

Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez is happy to play under Jose Mourinho.

While Spurs are still struggling for consistency, Sanchez believes they can come good under the Portuguese.

And he hopes to learn a lot from a coach known for his teams' defensive solidity.

"I think he is one of the best coaches in the world. For me, he is a winner, he works to make every player better," the 24-year-old said in Monday night's matchday programme before Spurs win over West Ham United.

"He is so calm in the dressing room. If he needs to say something or you need to say something, you feel free to because he knows for us as players, that is the best way to understand everything that is required of us.

"When you have a person who has done so many good things in his career, you just have to be open, ready to learn and listen to what he is saying and then try to improve and deliver your best for him.

"For me it is a pleasure to play under him, but it is also a challenge because he is one of the best managers in the world, so you always want to show that you are good enough to play for him.

"He has been in many situations where he has been confident and shown his ability and so we are learning a lot from him.

"We just need to always be open and passionate, ready to take everything on board, understand and deliver what he wants from us on the pitch."
