Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld admits they've reached the Champions League not at their best.
Spurs looked out of their semifinal when they went 2-0 behind to Ajax on Wednesday evening in the Johan Cruyff Arena having already suffered a 1-0 defeat in the first leg.
They were resurrected by a stunning hat-trick from Lucas Moura, though – the last of the Brazil international's strikes coming in the sixth minute of injury time.
“Ajax was in a very good moment we have to be honest we are not in our best moment of our Spurs career," Alderweireld said.
“But it was a very sensational comeback.
“If you put that we're through after being 2-0 down it's incredible. And this season, in this competition, we were already dead a couple of times and we came back.
“The group stages, Manchester City away as well.
“So I think we deserve to be in the final.
“If you play Dortmund when they were first in the league in Germany, City when they were first in England, Ajax, first in the league in Holland, then I think you deserve to be in the final."
