Tottenham defender Alderweireld finds a plus from lockdown

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld admits he's found a plus with the coronavirus suspension.

The Belgian is happy for the chance to spend more time with his family.

He said: "It is strange: on the one hand you want the football back and you want everything to return to normal, but on the other hand I can now spend a lot of time with my children.

"That is a small plus. I am happy to have them close with me. With two small children I always have my hands full, even when I'm not training."

For the time being, the Premier League has been suspended until April 30 and Alderweireld is committed to being ready to play after that date.

"Although we know it may be difficult to meet that date. Nobody remembers. Football is important, it is much more than a game. But the most important thing in life is your family and your health."
