Tottenham and Roma are in negotiations over a deal for attacking midfielder Nicolo Zaniolo.

The 23-year-old creative midfielder has three years remaining on his contract with the Italian capital club.

Zaniolo played 40 times for Roma in all competitions last term, but did not always put in the best performances.

According to Footmercato, Spurs are hoping to secure the talented midfielder as squad depth for the coming season.

Zaniolo may find his place in the Roma side in jeopardy after the free transfer signing of Paolo Dybala.

The Italian can play as a no.10, while he is also adept on either wing.
