Tottenham to contest Kaboul red card

Tottenham will appeal the red card given to Younes Kaboul in the weekend's 4-0 loss to Chelsea according to reports.

The French defender was sent from the pitch in the 59th minute for an apparent foul on Samuel Eto'o in the area which led to a penalty, converted by Eden Hazard, to make it 2-0 at Stamford Bridge.

Referee Michael Oliver quickly brandished the red card, ending Kaboul's day, but Spurs believe the decision was too harsh and will now go up against the automatic three-match ban.

Sky Sports News is of the belief that Tottenham will certainly appeal the charge as they look to remain in the top five on the Premier League table and possibly even push for a top-four finish.
