Tottenham confident Japhet Tanganga will sign new deal

Tottenham are confident Japhet Tanganga will soon sign a new deal.

The London Evening Standard says Tanganga's current deal expires at the end of next season but he is close to agreeing fresh terms, which are expected to run until 2024 and significantly increase his current £1k per week wages.

Spurs have already tied Oliver Skipp and Eric Dier to new deals until 2024 as Jose Mourinho looks to secure the futures of the core of his squad.

Tanganga has been one of the biggest positives from Tottenham's season after establishing himself in Mourinho's first team squad following a surprise Premier League debut in January's defeat to Liverpool. The defender made his club bow under Mauricio Pochettino in a League Cup defeat at Colchester in September.
