Tottenham coach Mason: There'll be no banter with ex-teammates

Tottenham interim boss Ryan Mason says he will not be joking around with any of his ex-teammates.

The 29-year-old is now in charge of Spurs until the season concludes, given the sacking of former boss Jose Mourinho on Monday.

Spurs have the small matter of a League Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday, along with the remaining Premier League fixtures to play.

Mason, who was a teammate of some players within the current Spurs squad, says everyone will remain completely professional.

"They are top professionals and with some in these situations there might be banter, but not with me," he said, per football.london.

"I am here to help them and guide them and give them everything they need so they can go on that football pitch and feel comfortable and confident.

"There won't be banter between me and the lads. Yes they are my friends, of course, but there is already that professional working relationship and I'm sure they respect that."
