Tottenham sporting director Fabio Paratici has been accused of blowing €700m in transfers in the latest revelations from the Juventus financial investigation.
The entire board of the Italian giants resigned earlier this week over an ongoing probe by Turin prosecutors into allegations of false accounting over the past three years.
Paratici, who joined Tottenham in June 2021 after three years as Juve transfer chief, is under investigation for market manipulation, false corporate communications of a company listed on the Stock Exchange and the issue of false invoices, reports the Mirror.
Wire taps on Juventus officials have been leaking out in the Italian media - with current sporting director Federico Cherubini recorded making accusations about his predecessor Paratici.
He said Paratici was guilty of mismanagement by sacking coaching Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo within 12 months and wasting transfer money.
According to La Stampa, Cherubini said:
“In two years he has thrown everything away, €700m (£600m) put in by the shareholders. He's put everything at risk. Because he decided to get rid of two people when it was probably right to keep them.
“We were arrogant in the market. I swear that there were evenings when I'd go back home and feel nauseous just thinking about it."
