Tottenham in Champions League good for football - Redknapp

Tottenham qualifying for the Champions League will be good for football, says manager Harry Redknapp.

Redknapp does not believe that playing alongside Europe's elite next term will mean they will also follow the Merseysiders by crashing out of the Champions League in the qualifying round and struggling in the league.

He said: "Finishing fourth is the key just to breaking the monopoly of the Big Four. It would be good for football and it would be fantastic for us.

"Only Everton who have done it in the last 11 or 12 years. It would be lovely if we can do is as well and go a step further by qualifying and then get through to the knock out stage of the Champions League as well.

"We really want to achieve that now because we have been up there all year. And we have got a good chance. The league positions have chopped and changed all season. Villa had a good spell, then we had a great run and then Man City looked certainties.

"City went a few points clear with a game in hand as well. Then it changes again with our great run. You can't tell what will happen except it will be close.

"If Villa win at Manchester City and we beat Bolton, we'll need to win one more game out of their remaining two."
