Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is releasing funds for Atalanta defender Cristian Romero.
Football.london says Levy has given his thumbs up to a deal for Romero - and Spurs are confident of signing the Argentine.
Romero is on loan at Atalanta from Juventus for another year but can join the club permanently this summer for around £13.8million.
He could join Atalanta then immediately be flipped to Spurs for around £38.5m. The report claims there is a growing confidence at the north London club that they can get a deal done.
The two teams are making progress in negotiations to agree a deal and Levy has given his thumbs up to the signing.
Romero is said to be keen on following team-mate Gollini to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
