Tottenham caretaker boss Mason: Fans know Levy has been incredible for this football club

Tottenham caretaker boss Ryan Mason is confident the fans respect the work of chairman Daniel Levy.

Spurs host Wolves on Sunday amid talk of protests planned against the board for their attempt to join the failed Super League.

Mason said, "I respect the fans. They're the heart and soul of this football club.

"Our chairman and board have been incredible for this football club in the past 15-20 years. I think the fans see that. Everyone is entitled to our opinion."

On facing Wolves, he continued: "We want to be in European competitions, that's what we strive for, the fact that we are sitting here saying that we expect Champions League, I think it goes to show that the expectations within the club and on the outside.

"When you represent this football club you want to be playing in the biggest games, unfortunately this season has not gone as planned at times but we want to focus on winning many games as possible."

Mason was also asked about Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta's comment this week about it being a nice incentive for the Gunners to finish above Spurs.

"I'm sure it is for them, I know the importance when you represent this football club to finish above them, I'm a Tottenham man, I know that but we can't think about that, we have to think about winning our games but I know what it means to our fans."
