Tottenham captain Lloris upbeat on Liverpool draw: But we wanted more

Tottenham captain Hugo Lloris says they can draw positives from yesterday's 2-2 draw with Liverpool.

Lloris made a handful of fine saves during the first period and although he admitted his disappointment at not claiming all three points following a string of missed chance, he felt the way they've adapted over the last two weeks was key to our display.

The goalkeeper told the club's website: “A lot of credit to the manager, the coaching staff and all the players, because we used the time and tried to get the benefit of the time. It wasn't easy at all, but we worked hard, we worked well and prepared as well as we could for this game against unbelievable opponents.

"This team has been fantastic for many years now and I think it's always a big challenge to face Liverpool. It probably gave us a big picture of the level and the direction we want to take. A draw against Liverpool, we could be pleased, but no. We are not pleased. We want more, especially when you look at the performance. We are working for that.

“We have ambition to win every game and when that doesn't happen, of course, we need to analyse the performance, where we can improve individually and collectively, but the most important thing is that you feel all the players give their best, 100 per cent. We know the situation in the last two weeks has not been easy at all, because you put a lot of focus and energy into the preparation of games, then the game doesn't happen and it's repetition.

“But we cannot forget that we can feel lucky to play an amazing game against one of the best teams of the moment, in front of a full crowd, so this is positive. We hope we can keep playing in that way, for football, for all the English fans. We also have a thought for players still in quarantine, because that type of game, you want to enjoy together, you don't want to miss players, but it's a moment of our lives we need to manage together."
