Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas is delighted Emmanuel Adebayor will be skipping the African Nations Cup.

Togo have pleaded with the striker to come out of international retirement.

"From his statement, he won't be going," said Villas-Boas. "That's the information I have. So unless there is an agreement between him and the federation then he will not be going. That is a big boost for us at the moment. It is absolutely excellent."
