Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is chasing Ajax striker Luis Suarez this summer.

The Daily Star says the Spurs manager is a huge admirer of Suarez and inquired about the forward in the January transfer window.

But Suarez would only consider a move to Manchester United or Arsenal.

Martin Jol, the former Spurs boss now in charge at Ajax, confirmed our story last month, saying: "I know that Luis wouldn't leave Ajax for a club like Tottenham.

"He will only leave us if the opportunity comes up to join one of Europe's best teams."

But Redknapp hasn't given up hope of luring the £30m-rated striker to White Hart Lane.

He hopes his side's first crack at Champions League football next season will persuade Suarez to join them.
