Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp was happy to hand Kyle Walker his Premiership debut in their win against Portsmouth.

The 19-year-old defender signed from Sheffield United last summer.

"I was pleased for him. He was a bit nervous with it being his first game but he came in and did well," Redknapp told the Spurs website.

"He's a bit like Gareth Bale because he can run all day and he's a good crosser, so we like him."
