Ahead of their Champions League semifinal second-leg, the manager confirmed Vertonghen was fit. Spurs trail 1-0 on aggregate.
Vertonghen has travelled to Amsterdam and is set to start the game with a mask on his face after injuring his nose and having to be helped from the pitch after a sickening blow to his head in the first leg.
Pochettino said: “He didn't suffer more than a cut on his nose. It was no more than that. A lot of players keep on playing in the same situation. It wasn't a big issue and it's not a big issue if he's fit and we give him the opportunity to play.
“It's not a problem. I think he will need a mask but it's not a big issue."
