Tottenham boss Pochettino rejects chance to take Barcelona winger Malcom

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino has turned down the chance to sign Barcelona attacker Malcom.

The Brazilian, 21, was offered on loan and Spurs were willing to pursue a deal if Pochettino gave the green light.

But The Sun says Poch insisted the Barca star did not fit into his plans for the rest of the season even with Harry Kane crocked and Son Heung-min away at the Asian Games.

After going through the summer without spending, it is understood Spurs chairman Daniel Levy WAS happy to sanction January deals.

Finding the right profile of players has proved more difficult, with Pochettino insisting he would only take players who would improve what he has at his disposal.

Spurs are now unlikely to land anyone before the transfer deadline, with Poch saying he has no problem with relying on his current squad.
