Tottenham boss Nuno admits he's eager to keep hold of Heung-min Son.

However, he says the return of Gareth Bale from Real Madrid won't happen.

“Gareth Bale will not be part of our squad," Nuno confirmed. “Son will join us very soon and then we will have a chance to talk.

“It is not easy to improve our squad but we need to, so we need to be very clinical with the players that join us and can help us.

“We need to bring in some things that we don't already have. We have to bring in people who besides being a good player is a good human being."

The former Wolves manager also detailed talks he has held with Fabio Paratici, hinting that the director of football will take the lead in any transfer negotiations.

He continued: “We are aware there's a lot of work to be done, but at the same time it's hard work because to improve our squad, the quality we have, the talent we have, is not easy.

“We have to find the right players who can help us, but it's been good work and on a daily basis each moment we have the chance to speak, to share opinions - me, Fabio, Steve.

“They do their job, look at the market. I do my job on the training ground and we get together ideas and try to find the best decisions. But like I say, to improve our squad is not easy."
