Tottenham boss Mourinho insists Champions League hopes not over

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho insists their Champions League hopes are not over.

He vowed Tottenham would "fight until the end" after their were beaten 1-0 by RB Leipzig in the first leg of the Champions League last-16 clash last night.

"The result is 1-0 not 10-1 - the result is open, it's as simple as that. We would not be the first team to lose the first game at home and win the tie away," Mourinho said.

"The thing that keeps me confident is the spirit, the mentality of my players - it's what they are not just as players, especially what they are as guys... a fantastic group of players."

Mourinho added: "I am so, so proud of players, what worries me is this is the situation for rest of the season... speaking of the next game against Leipzig one thing I can guarantee because this is the mentality of my players - even with I don't know who will play in attack - we will fight."
