Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has declared he doesn't want Tanguy Ndombele in the coming weeks.
The midfielder has been linked with a move away after a difficult spell under Mourinho last season.
But the Spurs manager now says: "Tanguy is in a development process. Last season he wasn't. Last season he got stuck in a situation where I couldn't see the development.
"At this moment he trains very, very well. He is recovering from his injury, he is recovering physically and today he gave us what we needed in the last 30 minutes (against Lokomotiv Plovdiv)
"Right now I believe in Tanguy. I never doubted his quality. Never. I doubted, in certain moments, his motivation, commitment and professional attitude. Right now I believe in him. Today we made this decision together that he would not start the match because he also feels he needs a little more. But right now I think Tanguy can do well for us."
