Tottenham boss Mourinho: I understand I wasn't in line with government protocol

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho says he went against "government protocol" after being criticised for taking three players for training in a local London park.

Local press and media 'personalities' attacked the Spurs manager and three players for 'training too close to eachother' during the UK coronavirus lockdown.

The Mirror says Mourinho is understood to have been spoken to by the club as the hierarchy was unimpressed after the Tottenham boss was pictured out in public along with Tanguy Ndombele, Davinson Sanchez and Ryan Sessegnon.

Interestingly, Mourinho was taking Ndombele for training after publicly criticising the midfielder for their draw at Burnley.

But Mourinho says he accepts he wasn't compliant with government demands: “I accept that my actions were not in line with government protocol and we must only have contact with members of our own household.

“It is vital we all play our part and follow government advice in order to support our heroes in the NHS and save lives."
