Tottenham boss Mourinho eyeing double Serie A defensive swoop

Tottenham Hotspur boss Jose Mourinho is turning to Serie A in his bid to add defensive solidity to his team.

Mourinho is unimpressed with how Spurs have defended since his arrival midway through this season.

Tuttomercatosays Mourinho wants to sign Alex Sandro and Timothy Castagne from Juventus and Atalanta.

Those two would add full back options for Mourinho, essentially replacing Danny Rose and Serge Aurier.

Rose has been on loan at Newcastle during the second half of the season, while Aurier is reportedly on his last life at Spurs after causing problems during the COVID-19 lockdown.

Aurier plus cash is what Spurs want to offer Juventus for Sandro, while Castange would not be cheap given Atalanta's impressive Champions League displays this season.
