Tottenham boss draws line under Assou-Ekotto clash

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp says Benoit Assou-Ekotto will not be punished for clashing with a fan last weekend. The French-born defender was confronted by the fan and he reacted before assistant boss Joe Jordan pulled him away and led him down the tunnel at the final whistle.

Redknapp insists the Cameroon international will not face repercussions.

"There won't be any punishment," explained Redknapp.

"Joe (Jordan) was there and he said it was nothing. This guy came over, he was foreign.

"He said something to Benoit and Benoit reacted to it. "Whatever he said, that was it and there was no violence or anything.

"Joe pulled him away and his girlfriend pulled the other guy away, whoever he was."
