Tottenham appoint Kaboul as new captain

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has named Younes Kaboul as the club's new captain.

The 28-year old French centre-back, who has been back with Spurs since 2010, has replaced Michael Dawson as club captain at White Hart Lane after he departed north London for Hull City in the summer.

Pochettino, who has appointed Hugo Lloris and Emmanuel Adebayor as vice-captains, said Kaboul was full of the right character to lead Tottenham forward.

"Younes Kaboul has shown me all the values needed to be a captain," he said.

"He has the character to lead this team as well as the respect of his teammates."
