Tottenham had a deal in place for Liverpool fullback Glen Johnson this month, it has been revealed.
Sky Italia reported last night that Spurs and Liverpool had agreed a fee for the England international, but Johnson rejected the move as he wants to play abroad.
Johnson began taking Spanish lessons last year, which has fuelled talk of a move in the summer to Real Madrid.
Juventus are also keen and it's claimed Johnson would not be averse to moving to Italy in 2011.
