Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane has admitted that he was lucky to avoid serious injuries after falling victim to a horror challenge by Bruno Alves.

England claimed an uninspiring 1-0 victory over Portugal in a friendly encounter at Wembley on Thursday night but the main talking point of the game was Seleccao's defender Alves' shocking kung-fu challenge on Kane.

Fortunately Kane avoided a serious injury from the challenge and the Spurs star has gone on to admit that he was very lucky to do so.

He said: "I've got a few scratches on my head and shoulder, but at least I'm still here.

"I've got away with one there."

England meet Russia in their opening Euro2016 Group B fixture in Marseille on June 11.
