Former Real Madrid and Wales coach John Toshack says Gareth Bale's failure to learn Spanish is an insult to the club.

Toshack has also questioned the reasons behind Bale's poor injury record with the Los Merengues.

"Many of the injuries of Bale, if you notice, are by strange gestures," he told El Transistor.

"When you go to a country, out of respect for the club, for your fans, you have to try to learn to speak the language of that country, Bale should try.

"Bale is an exceptional talent, but the injuries have taken their toll."
