Didier Drogba believes Fernando Torres failed at Chelsea because he was no longer the main man.
The Spanish striker landed a £50million move to Stamford Bridge from Liverpool in January 2011 but failed to recreate his Anfield heroics in West London.
Regarding Torres' failed spell with the Blues, club legend Drogba felt the Atletico Madrid man was not at his best due to the fact that there was no room for a 'king' at Chelsea.
"With all due respect to Liverpool, at that club, Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres had been the kings," Drogba wrote in his autobiography 'Commitment'.
"At Chelsea, there were 22 kings. So I really felt for Nando [Torres], because I knew how difficult the situation was for him. At Liverpool, the team was geared around him as their main striker.
"It wasn't that others couldn't score – they could – but they fed him the ball, they structured the team around him with the aim that he would score. That's not how it was at Chelsea."
