USA boss Juergen Klinsmann has called Jozy Altidore into his squad January training camp.
The 25-year old striker has replaced Seattle Sounders captain Brad Evans who has had to withdraw from the camp in Carson, California because of a knee problem.
Altidore, who completed his move from Sunderland to Toronto FC on Friday, will now link up with the rest of the players who kicked off the camp in January 12.
The US team then heads to Santiago, Chile to continue the camp from January 25 to 29 which will include a friendly against the Chilean team in Rancagua on the 28th.
