Toronto FC GM Ali Curtis has explained their loan deal for Liverpool defender Tony Gallacher.
The 21-year-old joined the Canadians on a temporary deal for the remainder of the 2020 MLS season on Monday, having made his Reds debut in their 5-0 League Cup defeat to Aston Villa last year.
Curtis is looking forward to seeing Gallacher in action in the MLS when elaborating on Toronto's thinking behind the deal.
"Tony is a young, promising defender that will provide us with additional depth on our backline for the remainder of the year," he told the club's website.
"We feel his character and personality will fit well within our group."
Toronto currently sit third in the MLS Eastern Conference after 11 games played and are well-placed to qualify for the play-offs ahead of the season's finish in December.
