Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment CEO Richard Peddie has confirmed that Toronto's BMO Field will be expanded to 30,000 capacity.
The home of MLS club Toronto FC, which was constructed in 2007, will be improved for the future as the game in North America continues to grow.
"With a wait list of 19,000 we need to expand BMO Field to 30,000 seats," Peddie said.
"And our strategic plan includes other new initiatives that you will hear about in the future.
"MLSE believes in Toronto and if the initiatives we are looking at are good for our fans, Torontonians, and fiscally responsible, you will see many more city builder investments from us."
