Torino president Urbano Cairo says the club hopes Andrea Belotti will stay.
The striker's deal expires at the end of the season.
“Belotti's contract is running down, we'll see what happens," Cairo told Radio Deejay.
“(Director of sport Davide) Vagnati is talking to his agent. Ivan Juric got involved too, so we'll see if we can find a solution.
“I have said that I no longer want to talk about it, so hopefully something good might happen. Andrea is a good lad, so I'd be stunned if after seven years at Toro, as the team's captain, having scored 100 goals, he didn't want to stay.
“After that, the fact remains we have not yet reached an agreement."
