Torino midfielder Afriyie Acquah has admitted that he is close to joining a Premier League side and the transfer is 90% done.

The Ghanaian, who will reportedly cost £8m, was recently linked with a move to the Magpies.

"Yes, it is very likely I will be moving to England", he told GhanaWeb.com.

"It is 90% complete, but we are still talking, once we finish, I am sure an announcement will be made."

Ghanaian sports journalist Dennis Mirpuri added: "Acquah in talks with EPL side Newcastle. He could sign next week.

"Nursing a minor injury so missed Black Stars [Ghana] training today."
