Torino coach Giampaolo relieved with victory over Genoa

Torino coach Marco Giampaolo was relieved after victory over Genoa last night.

Sasa Lukic and a Luca Pellegrini own goal earned Toro the points.

“I simply tell my players how things really are," Giampaolo told Sky Sport Italia.

“It's not easy to have a certain attitude when you throw away results that were within your grasp for three games in a row. Psychologically, that is a difficult thing to get over.

“I say this is a match we won with faith. It means there is something credible in our rapport, otherwise, the team will abandon you."

The match marked Toro's first win of the season.

He added: “I always had positive sensations and you build team spirit in difficult situations. We are still under a train, though, so we need to rebuild our credibility one step at a time, working as a united group.

“When are surrounded by uncertainty, it's difficult to react unless you have character and belief."
