Time Warner and Chicago Fire reach agreement

Chicago Fire have agreed a local broadcast deal with Time Warner Cable (TWC), reports, www.sportspromedia.com/. The agreement sees TWC SportsChannel become the 'Wisconsin television home' of the Fire until the end of the 2014 season.

TWC will show the team's four remaining MLS games this season, excluding fixtures with national broadcasts, as well as all regionally telecast games next season.

"The ability to reach new audiences via our broadcast platform is essential for growing awareness of the Fire," said Chicago Fire's chief operating officer Atul Khosla.

"The partnership with Time Warner Cable Sports, in addition to our youth expansion into Wisconsin is an important next step in growing the Fire base in and around Chicagoland."

"Partnering with the Chicago Fire to bring games to soccer fans in Wisconsin on Time Warner Cable SportsChannel is such an incredible opportunity," added Mark Strachota, the general manager of Time Warner Cable SportsChannel.

"We understand how deeply MLS fans care about their favourite teams and are thrilled to play a new part in growing the league."
