Tierney admits Arsenal players not helping Arteta

Arsenal left back Kieran Tierney admits the players are not making life easy for manager Mikel Arteta.

The Spaniard is under fire at the club after a miserable start to the league season.

The Gunners are languishing in 15th in the table and are only five points away from the relegation zone.

Tierney knows all about the pressure of being at a top club from his time with Celtic, and believes the players are not doing enough at the moment.

The Gunners lost 1-0 at home to Burnley on Sunday.

He said on Sky Sports: "We are not showing the manager what we can do and how much we believe in him.

"Every game there are signs we are doing a bit better but it is still not good enough. At half time we need to be going in the lead but we are not doing that."

"It is hard to say the red card cost us the game," he added.

"It was always going to be a lot tougher."

He continued: "Hard work is the only thing [that can fix this], nothing else for it. There are no excuses. There is nothing I can say that will make people believe a positive thing is going to come out of this.

"We are lucky we have a great manager. We just need to show better on the pitch."
