The German star took his season tally to 30 with a stunning hat-trick in RB Leipzig's 5-0 demolition of Mainz on Sunday.

Mainz were put to the sword by the Bundesliga golden boy, who opened the scoring before finding the net twice in the second-half, with Yussuf Poulsen and Marcel Sabitzer also on target.

The German outfit even took to Twitter to beg Reds boss Klopp to show Leipzig's opponents some mercy and snare the 24-year-old out of the German top-flight.

The club's official Twitter account wrote: "Kloppo, can you take him already?"

Anfield are thought to be closing in on a £52million deal for the Germany sensation with sources claiming the transfer is "happening".
