Thomas Tuchel admits PSG were 'lucky' against Man Utd

Paris Saint-Germain boss Thomas Tuchel admits his team rode their luck to a 3-1 win against Manchester United at Old Trafford.

PSG kept themselves alive and are now in the box seat to qualify for the last 16 from their group.

Three teams are on nine points, but PSG have the easiest fixture, as they face Istanbul Basaksehir in the final game.

United and RB Leipzig take on each other, with a draw enough for United to progress, while Leipzig must win to have their fate in their own hands.

And Tuchel said PSG were fortunate United did not convert their chances when the scores were tied at 1-1.

"In the first 15 minutes of the second half, we suffered a lot," Tuchel told the official club website.

"We didn't adapt our positioning with the ball. We lost too many easy balls and that's why we were hit with two or three very difficult counter attacks.

"We were lucky that we didn't concede the second goal, but we never accepted defeat in this match.

"We never gave up. We showed great spirit and some real quality and it was a great end to the match.

"The match was always going to be very tough, so I am very happy but we will remain calm because we haven't qualified yet and we need to take it one step further."
